While I have sung and played music since childhood, a number of mundane personal detours led me away from music, my first love, and into the corporate world. One day I peeked outside my cubicle and realized that music was still there waiting for me. So we kissed, made up, and ran off together. People said it wouldn’t last, that music wouldn’t be able to support me, that it would be too hard, that I wasn’t good enough…but we seem to be proving “them” wrong.
Since then I’ve had the good fortune to work with some amazing songwriters, composers, and artists in New York, Los Angeles, and my hometown of Seattle; toured many places in the world; made television appearances; written numerous songs and met an endless number of inspiring people along the way.
Music and me, we still have our challenges but we take ‘em on together and try to enjoy the ride. More often than not it is full of amazing surprises, crazy good luck, a little help from my friends, some kindness from strangers and unbelievable joy.
I know I’m happier in it rather than not, and am definitely ever grateful for each breath with a song on it.
beautifully said my friend.
Hey Celia! And that’s just what happened with my Sparky books. Needed to step outside my corporate cubicle, where I had ended up, and follow Sparky for awhile. That path has opened many doors for me in my life, as I know yours has, too. Keep up the wonderful music, good luck on the EP, and Happy Halloween!
This made me happy to read.
